More news on ORLANDO THRILL PARK

OTPN was the first yesterday to break the news, even before WFTV wrote the article down! of course, we saw their video on television, so the credit goes to them.

Here you are some more information about the park!: GO TO WFTV.com (This material can't be published, rewritten or redistributed, so we can't copy and paste it here).

Here you are some highlights of the article:

The Baker Leisure Group would be the company that would build the park. It is specialized in building theme parks (as we previously stated), is looking to build “The Orlando Thrill Park.” It would sit on 70 acres of land located along International Drive and would feature several roller coasters (just like the Busch Gardens version of Orlando!) .

The group would buy land currently up for sale in a wooded area near Festival Bay Mall and the Prime Outlets. Developers of the Orlando Thrill Park are interested in building roller coasters so tall they would require approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). (WOW!)

The plan is still in very early stages, and the Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said the plan sounds exciting but he doesn't know much about the proposal yet.
We just have to wait!!! it will certainly be exciting, but I really hope they will build a lot of dark rides too!!
And it has to be extremely themed, as the competition they have is the most dangerous in the world! (WDW, UOR, SWO, BGT!) Aren't you excited??

  1. Ok, it's will be perfeeeeeect *--* I love Orlando dude, it's definitely the capital of amusement park and rollercoasters of the world ! But, I reckon that this area is too small to a park that pretend have so many coasters...

  2. Yes, to tell the truth, it looks small, but maybe they will be able to expand in the back, after a while... AND I REALLY HOPES IT WILL HAVE ALSO DARK RIDES AND LOTS OF THEMING! I wouldn't like a Six Flags-type park...

  4. A coaster so tall, it requires FAA approval? I don't think you could entice me with enough money to get on that. That sounds insane!

  5. I think over 200 or 199 feet you may need approval. If not, at least lights on them (the blinking lights)like the radio antennas. (Maybe Samuele knows the height for sure...)

I saw on a Disney T.V. special Cinderellas Castle and Expedition Everest and such aren't bigger(taller), cause they would require such lights and Disney didn't want to break off the illusion by putting lights on top their structures(buildings).

I haven't ridden any coaster over 201 feet but they're coaster around over 300 and I think a couple over 400 around. So actually this doesn't sound too crazy. I think the I-drive Skyline is a bigger question for me. what would happen to it? Would it be more interesting, uglier?

No, don't worry, i just wrote that because I want to make sure that i wasn't breaking the copyright of WFT! :-)

And you're very right, Francisco. The max. height of a building WITHOUT lights has to be less than 200 feet (therefore 199,99 feet).
I'm going to sit and watch what happens! i just hope it's not only about coasters!!
