Epcot update

Here you are a new update around Epcot Center (from now on, I will call this magnificent park with its original name). Let's see what's new here this week:

Still no banners here, but that's better than seeing those "Celebrate today!" banners:

Work near the monorail entrance continues:

Welcome to Epcot Center:

Lights? Are they FINALLY working inside here? Maybe not:

I love going to the Festival Center! I even tasted chocolate in a free seminar!:

Walls inside Imagination:

And they've done... NOTHING!!:

This is as ridiculous as the Emporium work:

At the top of the stairs to the old Imageworks, there are no longer plants to block your view, so I spotted this:

It says "COLORING BOOK":

Has this part been repainted? It looks much darker now:

New street dividers:

This pizza is awful:

The car is back! Yes! Maybe this time for good:

The car looks nicer:

Work on Duffy the Bear proceeds slowly but they're on-time:

This new meet-and-greet will open on October 14,2010 - IN JUST TWO DAYS! (Please, notice that this picture was taken on October 8, so they may have already finished it by now):

This will soon become a Duffy-only store:

A new sign for the Mexican stand:

The gorgeous meet-and-greet of Donald Duck has now some night lights:

And they work very well:

Thank you for joining us in this update. See you soon!

  2. If you really want to use the old name, it should be written as EPCOT Center, because it stands (or stood) for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. When they removed the "Center," they turned Epcot into one word that means nothing.

  3. I am curious to see how Duffy takes off. I was thinking of buying one as a souvenir, but then I saw he comes without his little sailor outfit--you have to buy it separately! I think it's about $40-$50 for Duffy and his outfit. I'll pass.

It smacks of the Build-A-Bear at my local mall and it's a fad that has already passed. I guess it is still 2001 in Disney's Merchandising Dept.

  4. BB- I think he means that pizza stand by Test Track. I always thought it was a "standing, but not operating" type of place. It's always closed when I go.

But if Samuele says it's awful, I'll believe him. He knows pizza. :)
