RUMOR: Updated Aerial Footage of EPCOT to Be Used for Soarin' Around the World to Be Captured In May

Over the past few years, most of the World Celebration area of EPCOT has been surrounded by walls to allow crews to work on CommuniCore Hall, the CommunCore Plaza stage, and a section of the tranquil World Celebration Gardens (all of which will officially open to Guests on June 10).

According to our source, the Walt Disney World Resort is currently planning to capture updated aerial footage of the park in early May 2024. This footage will be captured after park close and will include the entire World Celebration Gardens as well as Spaceship Earth, which is expected to eventually be used as the new finale of the Soarin' Around the World attraction. Currently, Soarin' Around the World still features the Fountain of Nations and Innoventions.

As a reminder, this is just a RUMOR, and the schedule is subject to change due to construction delays and other operational needs; that being said, it's clear that Walt Disney Imagineering wants to capture this footage before the area officially opens to Guests, leading us to believe that Soarin' Around the World will be updated very soon.
