Latest Disney's Hollywood Studios Advisories (June 2016)

If you are planning to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios in the next few weeks, be sure to keep in mind that there will be reduced traffic lanes while entering the park's main auto plaza and parking lots due to some major modifications coming to the area. Barrier walls and fences have been installed as part of the work.
As a result, remember to allow additional travel time when driving through this area, and continue to remain alert for lane closures through the end of summer.

Additionally, there will be a second Fantasmic! show on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 at 10:30 p.m. Note that this change will not be reflected in this week's Hollywood Studios Times Guides.

Finally, don't forget that the new Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will begin nightly performances on June 17. This elaborate show will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and video projections that will turn the park’s Chinese Theater and other buildings into the twin suns of Tatooine, a field of battle droids, the trench of the Death Star, Starkiller Base and other Star Wars destinations.

The show will also feature music from throughout the film franchise and will be punctuated with a tower of fire and a spotlight beam, creating a massive lightsaber in the sky.

  1. Hate to ask this...but due to the recent tragic events in Orlando, should we expect any other changes in security or times? Are certain items or bags expected to be more scrutinized or have nothing else inside them?

  2. Hey, man. I know this does feel very excruciating but I can tell you one thing:

After what happened, Disney has extended their securities, before and after the incident. You should expect more of metal detectors, before entering the park. They are also banning blasters and toy guns, in order to avoid any other "visual" detection of anything related to past incidents.

And to answer some part (not much) of your question:
For certain bags, I don't think they ever checked for smaller sizes (unless if you have a larger backpack or purse). Fanny-packs, and small backpacks wouldn't be a problem, but they would securities will still check them. Depending on the items you bring and/or the size they would be capable of storing, securities will keep an eye on your belongings, especially in the smallest details.

I wish you the best, and I hope that this horrible incident won't be the burden for any visitor that wants to go to the parks or any part of Orlando.

    -G.

  3. #OrlandoStrong! We here in Orlando are coming together in ways you wouldn't believe. The impact you may feel will be minimal, but your safety is first. May be a bit longer bag check line, more detectors, but your experience will still be just as awesome! #OrlandoProud!
