Downtown Disney Update: Garage Now Open (PART 1)

Disney Springs continues to take shape day after day, quickly replacing the Downtown Disney district, which will almost double in size by the end of 2016. Our official photographer Alex recently visited the location to check on the current status of the work being done around this large area, situated withing the Walt Disney World Resort. As you will see, a lot of progress has been done since our last visit, so there is really a lot to see. Enjoy the photos!:

Welcome:

Let's begin with a look at the new parking garage, which officially opened to the general public on November 20, 2014. As you will see, there is still some work that needs to be done around the structure:

From another angle:

We will post photos of the interior of the parking garage in a separate update. This photo-report is long enough, no need for an additional fifty photos, right? Let's now enter the West Side:

Work on the themed overhead rails continues:

The new Food Truck Park:

A section of the themed structure seems to be almost complete. Notice the hanging plants:

Walls on both sides of the street near Planet Hollywood:

The moat that formerly encircled the building is now gone:

  1. The height inside the garages was unexpected.

Most I come across have very low ceilings and clearances, such that I feel like I'm driving into a small dark cave.

Disney's height allows a lot of natural light during the day, and the overall spaciousness is very welcome.
