Cast Member to Guest Pin Trading Returning to Walt Disney World Starting April 7, 2024

On March 22, the Walt Disney World Resort officially confirmed that starting April 7, Cast Members across Walt Disney World will once again be able to trade Disney pins with Guests via lanyard or adventure pack. Ever since the parks reopened in 2020, Cast Members traded pins with Guests using the "mystery box" or a pin board.

Here are four things to know about the return of this Disney Parks pastime:

1. Trading pins is as simple as it sounds!

Disney pin trading is an interactive way for guests to make their Walt Disney World vacation unique and commemorate the time they spend with us. Guests can start up a conversation with Cast Members and fellow guests and agree to swap their Disney pins — the perfect way to make new friends while finding new favorite pins to add to their collections.

2. Cast Members across Walt Disney World can get in on the fun.

Walt Disney World Cast Members in non-safety critical guest-facing roles who are interested in trading Disney pins with guests can choose to wear a company-issued lanyard or adventure pack accessory while working. Some locations also have designated pin boards available to trade from with guests. More information about Disney pin trading options in your area will be shared with your leaders soon.

3. Guests can find new pins through Disney pin trading.

Eagle-eyed guests may find pins from new Hidden Disney pin sets while pin trading across Walt Disney World. When these pins become available for Cast to trade with guests beginning April 7, each set will contain five standard and uniquely themed pin designs. These special sets can only be found through Disney pin trading for a limited time.

Later this year, a sixth pin in each set — known as a “chaser” pin — will become available through purchase of retail mystery pouches, along with the original five in each set. For those who love to chase down new and exciting pins, there will be a NEW element this year with the introduction of a “super chaser” pin — an even rarer find!

4. It’s never too late to start collecting Disney pins.

There are so many ways for pin enthusiasts and new collectors alike to experience Disney pin trading and bring a piece of the magic home with them. Guests looking to purchase Disney pins can get started by visiting one of the following pin shopping locations:
  • Frontier Trading Post at Magic Kingdom Park
  • Pin Traders – Camera Center at EPCOT
  • Celebrity 5 & 10 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Discovery Trading Company at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Pin Traders at Disney Springs
