Not a place on a map, but a state of mind
On May 1, 1989 Disney-MGM Studios officially opened to the public. The grand opening was attended by dozens of notable Hollywood stars including Bob Hope and Annette Funnicello. In the park’s dedication Michael Eisner welcomed everyone “to a Hollywood that never – and always will be.” Today, Disney’s Hollywood Studios lives up to that dedication. It is a place where everyone can play together, making memories to last a lifetime just as they have for the last 30 years.

Legendary Likeness
A replica of the Pan-Pacific Auditorium found in Los Angeles, California, the main entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then Disney-MGM Studios, opened just three weeks before the original was destroyed by fire.
