SeaWorld Orlando Unveils Themed Coaster Car for Mako

Today, SeaWorld Orlando unveiled the custom-built Mako lead car that will take riders on a thrilling experience this summer on the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in Orlando. In a collaboration between SeaWorld’s animal experts and ride engineers, the car is inspired by the look and physiology of an actual Mako shark, including five gills on each side, eye placement and sleek, hydro-dynamic look. The new coaster will run a total of 3 trains of 7 cars per train.

The themed ride vehicle was first hidden under a crate that was later lifted in the air and placed nearby:

This video shows the vehicle being unveiled in front of the Media:

Here is the lead car of one of the three trains that will be traveling up and down on the new coaster:

With only a lap guard on their lower body, riders’ upper bodies are free for added mobility and airtime:

Yes, we know that we have taken way too many pictures, but coaster lovers will surely thank us...

The wheels are made of a special compound that reduces friction will provide a smooth and fast ride:

Mako’s design and engineering was inspired by the real Mako shark – one of the ocean’s fastest shark species.  When it opens, Mako will top 200 feet high and reach speeds of 73 mph on a track that’s nearly a mile long. The new ride will be a hyper coaster, which means it’s all about speed, tight turns and that weightless feeling riders get at the top of each hill. Take a look at the coaster's station:

Let's now take a quick look at the coaster itself. As you'll see, the majority of the track is now in place:

Let's conclude with a panoramic view of the coaster (including the Kraken):

We truly cannot wait to see this amazing coaster open to the public!:
