Flame Tree Barbecue Work at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Work around the Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant (located on Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom) is anticipated to begin on January 18 and last through June.
As part of this work, a planter in front of the Discovery Island restrooms near the restaurant will be removed, and a walkway will take its place. A construction wall will go on the site of the existing restroom walkway to allow for access during the plumbing work. The nearby Isle of Java kiosk will also temporarily close.

The second phase of the Flame Tree Barbecue refurbishment (which includes covering some of the walkways to seating locations) will begin in mid-February and last through June 2016. This includes:
  • A construction wall barricading approximately 158 seats.
  • Entertainment in the area being minimally impacted.
More information about phase two of this major project will be shared in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

  1. Seems strange they couldn't get it all done in the six month closure last year!
