Disney's Hollywood Studios Expansion Officially Begins

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will soon begin the largest expansion in the history of the park, including the highly anticipated Star Wars-themed land and the larger-than-life Toy Story Land. In order to prepare for the expansion, character greetings with Phineas & Ferb and Lightning McQueen & Mater and the nearby merchandise cart will not be available after January 4. Additionally, the Joffrey’s kiosk located near Premiere Theater will be closed after January 4, 2016.

This map shows the Meet-and-Greet locations, merchandise cart, and Joffrey's Kiosk mentioned above:

Even more areas of the park are expected to be closing to Guests later next year. Stay tuned.

  3. I heard the delay was caused by problems animating the ATAT. The intent is to have it stomp down buildings that will no longer be needed, but it only wants to peel off the roof of Muppet Vision and watch 1000 shows. They can't fire it as it under contract.

  6. Still hope they announce more things for this expansion, the park needs overall needs TLC, not just two new lands.

  7. Would still love to see another Pixar ride come to the park, besides Toy Story Land. (If Disney wants to spend money a trackless Incredibles dark ride would be amazing, but they most likely won't and go cheap but i would even settle for a clone of Crush's Coaster, from DLP)
