Islands of Adventure Update: Repainting the Lighthouse

Universal's Islands of Adventure continues to be under the spotlight thanks to the many different projects that are underway inside the park. In addition to the major refurbishment of The Incredible Hulk Coaster and the construction going on in the future Reign of Kong area (you may find the latest photos right here), the iconic lighthouse found near the park's entrance is receiving some attention, while minor work continues to be done in other themed areas. Take a look:

First of all, as mentioned at the beginning of this post, the Pharos lighthouse is being repainted:

The attraction's queue also continues to be refurbished:

Footers of the coaster are still visible around the central lagoon:

The nearby Storm Force Accelatron recently reopened after a short closure:

It's time to move on:

Recent rumors point to a new dark ride replacing the dormant Toon Lagoon Theater:

We have no information about this very interesting project, but Orlando Informer stated that the rumored new ride would be themed after "The Secret Life of Pets" movie that will debut next year:

The small plaza in front of Sweet Haven has been refurbished:
