Welcome to the second installment of our newest Universal Studios Florida photo-report. Be sure to check out PART 1 of this update before proceeding.
In the previous part, we took a look around the park's entrance, Production Central, Hollywood, the KidZone, and more. Let's now continue our tour of the park, which will include stops at Springfield, World Expo, the London waterfront, San Francisco, and New York. We hope you will enjoy the rest of this update.

Time to visit Springfield:

The sign of The Simpsons Ride is missing:

The attraction's building still looks faded:

It appears that the lights on top of The Sledge Homer were recently upgraded:

A panoramic view of the park:

World Expo:

Fear Factor Live is still operating:

London:

San Francisco:

New York:

The facade of Louie's was recently refurbished. Scaffolding came down a few weeks ago:

The Blues Brothers stage is still in the process of being rebuilt:

In the meantime, they are still performing in this area:

Let's take a look at some of the great merchandise inside The Film Vault:

  1. I hope this is an appropriate question to ask, but considering we'll soon (hopefully) be seeing something related to Nintendo in the near future.
Are there any religious reasons you may not cover it, like Harry Potter?

  2. This all started with the book series. Many Religious faiths believe that there Satanism subtext in the books which is linked to hell and the devil.

  3. Wait, what? I always wondered why we didn't see HP coverage...I have to non-religiously object to this fallacious reasoning, and sadly, I will no longer be perusing this site. Hopefully one day we can leave the dark ages in the past and move to the present where reason, facts, and evidence trump dogma.

  4. I really hope that is not the reason we never see Harry Potter in these updates.?.? Really?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Is that the reason? That stinks. I have to agree with Joe if that's the reason. It's 2015! You guys do such a good job! Please don't let this be true.

  6. @Joe: There's much more to that than what the rumors say, but we prefer not to go into that subject simply because it is a very long story. Also, we think that the fact that you will now stop to view our site just for that reason seems very... strange to say the least. I am sure you enjoyed our past updates. Also, you can find photos of Harry Potter areas in countless other sites.

    To each their own.

  7. I agree with the other posters, that is a stupid reason for not showing Harry Potter related things. Hopefully it isn't true.

It's a childrens book and film series about magic. J.K. Rowling doesn't run a cult where they sacrifice Christians.

  8. Yep, I definitely don't agree with him, but everyone has a right to their own opinion.

I will still go to the site even if he believes that Barack Obamas an alien and bigfoot lives in his basement.

  9. I will never understand the logic behind it either. Giant robots fighting each other, destroying cities to save the whole human race is totally fine! Super heroes and villains fighting each other (some using special..dare I say magical, powers) is totally cool as well. The moment a child starts using magic out of a wooden stick is where the line is crossed though. It just doesn't make any sense to me. All three of these examples are fake. None of it is real. So why is the biggest franchise in the park not allowed? To make matters worse (in my eyes) they show London which includes the magical Night Bus and a house elf. Why are parts of the Harry Potter world allowed and others are not? I just don't get it...

  10. You guys do a great job covering the parks. I wish you would show Harry Potter, but if you don't, I won't stop visiting your site. It's your decision, but really wish you would reconsider. I respect you, your decision, and your site. Thanks for everything you do!

    Thanks again.

  12. When did religion Factor into this? That really sucks, I am a religious person, but I can see past what some people think is evil...

  13. So, just to clarify...

You believe that there's a Satanic element to the parks, but you gladly go to the parks anyway, giving Universal money so that they can build more Satanic rides. In fact, you even write articles (like this one) promoting this Satanic park, encouraging others to come visit the parks (but not the Satanic bits) and give Universal even more money to promote more Satanism?

It's like the movie "Jaws" (a fitting reference for a UO article). You're Martin Brody and you believe that there's a killer shark in the water, but instead of wanting the beach to close you actually promote it on your website?

I'm not going to unsubscribe/unfollow your news or anything, but... that's messed up.

  14. We never mentioned anything like that. We simply stated that for personal reason we may choose to not cover certain areas of certain parks. That has not been a problem for the past few years, yet it becomes a huge issue today. We don't understand, really. We provide a free service (we are not paid by anyone to write articles), so we hope everyone will continue to enjoy our updates.

  15. Anon from 6:31 here again.. you're welcome and will continue to have my support! Again everyone, I don't understand it either, but that's the great part of our country..Freedom, to do what you want, day what you want, and publish what you want. Like they said, they aren't getting paid to do any of this. I could see if we were investors and we were telling them what to do, but we're not, nor should we tell them what and what not to cover. Personally, I love what Universal has done with HP, but I've never read the books or even seen the movies. There are other sites that cover HP world, but it's not even 1 percent of what OPN covers. You guys are amazing at what you cover, and I will continue to support you 100 percent (even though I don't understand), but I don't have to. LOVE YOU GUYS!!

  17. If you think about it they did do a tour of the HP area in Universal Studios when it first opened and as it's a park update I doubt nothing as changed. If you think about it they only take pictures from outside the attractions unless anything has changed like the Simpsons ride sign been missing and new lighting on the side show games. I like how they look everywhere for changes like the shop windows at the Universal Studio.

  20. Love your reports. I may not agree with you on Harry Potter but definitely support you in what you choose to review and post. It is unfortunate that some may criticize us for being who we are and being proud of what we believe in. The fact that you stand by what you believe will make me continue to visit your site on a daily basis. Thanks again for a great site.

  21. Recently when visiting the parks, I commented about the simpsons sign being gone and a passing employee told me they were just repainting it, so hopefully the rest of krustyland gets a facelift too. I personally detest the ride, but it'll be nice to get some fresh paint in there.

And for all this nonsense about Harry Potter, it seems ridiculous for you all to suddenly drop this fantastic site all together because they made the decision not to cover something. I am a huge fan of this site and am still able to to go look elsewhere for Harry Potter updates. Grow up, everyone. OTPN is the best site around.

  22. Living in the UK, I find this site invaluable. Have done for the last few years. Keep up the great work.

  24. To be honest I cant say I had noticed the lack of Harry Potter as there is normally a picture of the castle and train stations in the updates. I'm not religious in the slightest and cant say I have ever watched Harry Potter and thought of religion in anyway but that may just be me, but it is up to the individual what they believe and want to post to there site and as living in the UK this along with Screamscape is the best site for Orlando Florida attractions and parks.

One other thing with Harry Potter in the parks and not getting as many pictures as some would like. I enjoy all of the Films and I think what Universal has done in the parks is really great and impressive but sometimes I do get a bit fed up with some other sites focussing purely on Harry Potter rather than the rest of the parks so I think OTPN covering more of the rest of the park is actually a nice change as to some sites and people I think they would prefer to change the parks name to Harry Potter Orlando

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ok... First of all I'd like to point out that I'm not religious in any way. However, given that it's 2015 & we aren't living in an oppressive world Id also like to point out that everyone has the right to an opinion & their own specific beliefs.

This being said, I'm beyond disappointed to learn that this site now refuses to post Harry Potter updates for this reason.

Not more than a year ago I relied on this sites for important updates as the London waterfront emerged. You were more than happy to post updates at that point when it gained you traffic on your site!

I'd also like to point out that the books & movies were released years before the park was updated so I can't understand why your opinions of the park have now changed because of Potter!

I understand that you say it's a long story. But I truly feel that as a dedicated viewer of your site & also as a human being..you should provide an explanation here for your close minded behavior.

As a member of the press you should be providing news updates of all angles, whether you agree with them or not. This is what being a real journalist entails. If you are unwilling to do so for your own agenda then I really feel you should question your ability to provide updates in a public forum.

Again I'd like to say that I love your updates & I visit the site every day. However I feel your close minded behavior is both outrageous & uncalled for!

  26. This update was purely negative. Everything you posted made the park look bad.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Where did you see anything negative in this update? We are just reporting the work that is being done (or that may need to be done) around this great park (which also happens to be our favorite).

    ReplyDelete
  28. Look the London water front and train station is modern day London. What you see is the same if you visited different parts of Central London. The only thing that is part of HP on the front is the bus.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It's my favorite park also. Thank you OPN for the report!
