Islands of Adventure Update: JP River Adventure Reopens

While our eyes were focused on the new King Kong themed area currently under construction at Universal's Islands of Adventure, numerous other projects were completed around the park. A few examples would be the top-to-bottom refurbishment of Sweet Haven (which includes Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges and Me Ship, The Olive), Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, and Jurassic Park River Adventure. Let's check out these attractions and more:

Time to start our adventure:

Park hours are longer during this time of the year:

Let's start by walking around Marvel Superhero Island:

Nobody's got time for that, though, so we will move on to Toon Lagoon:

The beautiful Sweet Haven:

Wimpy's could be open in time for Spring Break:

The Bilge-Rat Barges:

Me Ship, The Olive:

Everything has been repainted:

Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls:

Jurassic Park River Adventure reopened just recently. Notice the new colors near the end of the drop:

The rock work looks great, even though quite a few ride effects still don't work:

The entrance:

The rest of the park looks just as great:

  1. I was up here this weekend and I was wondering when this photo update was made? I am just curious?

  2. What effects don't work for Jurassic Park? I know the exploding shack for Dudley Do Right's been gone for years.
