King Kong Land Construction Update (January 15, 2015)

The majestic exterior facade of the mysterious new addition currently being built at Islands of Adventure continues to become even more impressive. Work is being done at an extremely fast pace, with new structures added daily. Among the other things, this time, you will notice that the rockwork that should soon completely cover the front of the building is taking shape. Come along with us, and take a close look at the progress that has been done since our last visit:

  1. Is there any chance that this isn't a King Kong area at all, but something that will be based on the new Jurassic World movie coming out?

  2. Judging by the steel structure it looks like the temple for kong it would of been awesome if they used those ball cars from Jurassic world in an rollercoaster/thrill ride that used animatronic dinosaurs chasing you. May be the new unknown dinosaur and use a lot of scenery to make it authentic. I still don't mind kong hope it opens this year and it's different from the one from Hollywood studios.

  3. I Would love it to be King Kong, however the structure looks too big to be king kong

  4. I thought for a long time that this would be something to do with Jurassic World and not Kong. It seemed odd that you'd have a ride made in an area with a new film coming out. There was also very little evidence to suggest it would be a Kong ride anyway

However, with Jurassic World coming out in 4 months I doubt the ride would be complete in time to enjoy the success of that film unless it's a massive hit. Kong: Skull Island however is rumoured for a March 2017 release.

My concern would be that if it was a Kong ride, we may have to wait 2 years to ride it.

  5. How in any way does a King Kong ride fit into the surrounding themed area, let alone park?

  6. I had a chat with somebody involved in some way. I Can't say any more than that for their own safety, but King Kong was confirmed to me last year.

  7. Well it could be themed to fit into the Jurassic park area as it's got Dinosaurs in the attraction so it could become all part of Jurassic World.

  8. Technically it's between toon island and jurassic park so it could theoretically be it's own island.
