Magic Kingdom: Futuristic Phone Chargers Test

Starting next Friday (April 25, 2014) a test will take place at the Magic Kingdom Park, allowing Guests to charge the batteries on their mobile phones at a limited number of secure lockers located in Tomorrowland. Charging lockers are located inside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café (near the Fantasyland entrance) and the Tomorrowland Light & Power Company (Space Mountain shop, near the D-Tech area). This free service is part of a test that will continue through mid-summer.

How this new service works:
  • Guests must swipe a credit card to begin. This is a free service, and the credit card will not be charged. The credit card simply acts as a key to unlock the charging chamber.
  • Guests have to follow prompts on a touch screen to choose their mobile phone type. This service is available for a variety of devices, including Android, iPhone and Blackberry.
  • Guests connects their mobile phone and closes the chamber door. When the battery is nearing full charge, the chamber light turns green.
  • Guests then have to swipe the same credit card to unlock the chamber door and retrieve their phone.
  • Only one device may be connected within a chamber at any given time.
  • The charging chambers cannot accommodate electronic devices larger than a phone (such as a tablet).
We are sure many will appreciate this new service. We'll check out these new charging lockers soon.

  1. That is so cool. I think a very good service. Last year my mobile phone run out of energie because I took a lot, a lot, of pictures and used skype a lot (family members in The Netherlands followed the entire parade via Skype) again: I think it's a very good service. Most what I like it's free (Because ticketprice is high for entrance). I think when a amusementpark here in The Netherlands would give this kind of service, we would pay for the service. Like that we have to pay 0.50 € cents to use a toilet in the park. Matthew from The Netherlands.
