The OTPN Team is Going on Vacation...

That's right, even we at Orlando Theme Park News need a vacation every once in a while. This one is going to be different, though, as it will last more than just a couple of days. In fact, we will be missing for almost an entire week (you don't need to worry, though: we have prepared quite a few photo-updates that will be automatically posted by the system when the time comes!). So, where are we going? Well, that's a secret. Sorry.

Nah, just kidding. We are actually going to visit the Disneyland Resort in California and Universal Studios Hollywood. We will be taking a lot of pictures (which we will later post on our site. We will basically still be working while on vacation. Sigh!), and once we get back to our favorite place on Earth (home, that is Central Florida!) we will post our comments regarding the parks we visited in Southern California. Our trip was originally going to be even longer, and was going to include things like Las Vegas (just to check out the hotels, of course. NO GAMBLING!) and the truly magnificent Grand Canyon, but due to time, money, and other work-related issues, we had to cut those. That said, we are happy we can at least see two new theme parks.

We will spend three and a half days at the Disneyland Resort (two days for Disneyland Park, one and a half for Disney California Adventure), and one day at Universal Studios Hollywood (there are really very few things we need to see at that park. Actually, we plan on doing the Studio Tour twice, see WaterWorld, the Special Effects Stage, ride Transformers and the Simpsons Ride, and that's it). If time allows, we will also visit the Madame Tussaud's museum in Hollywood (the only issue is that in Southern California all the attractions and theme parks are very far from each other!). That should be all we are planning to see during this trip.

We will see you again once we come back. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for live updates!

  1. I would have recommended making the treck down to San Diego to do SeaWorld and Legoland, and to also check out Knott's and Magic Mountain if you haven't been to a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park yet. But I understand you have a limited time down there, and this is YOUR trip. Have fun in SoCal!

  2. Tip for RS Racers: Get to the park early, and send a runner to get Fast Passes. Off season, they were gone by 10AM. Else, the wait will be a minimum of an hour or two.
