Universal's Islands of Adventure: Quick Park Update

Good afternoon, OTPN Readers! This week we have been very busy posting a lot of photo-updates, and it looks like we are not going to stop anytime soon! This evening we have got a brief (but interesting) Islands of Adventure update. Let's see what's happening over there:

First of all, here you are some wait-times:

In Port of Entry, we noticed that work is still being done on the roof of the Confisco Grille restaurant:

Seuss Landing:

The "Oh, The Stories You'll Hear" show has again moved in the outdoor theater:

Here you can even meet-and-greet many Seuss characters after the show has ended:

Some examples? Thing 1 and Thing 2:

The Cat in the Hat:

And, as it was announced back in February, even the great Lorax (one of our favorite characters):

..and the Grinch:

The main sign of "The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley train Ride" is still being refurbished. It has been missing for a lot of months:

As we reported in our last Islands of Adventure update, it looks like the work on this small section under the track of the Seuss Trolley has been completed:

Repainting in progress:

Moving over to the Lost Continent:

The theming of Poseidon's Fury is definitely impressive:

Work on the new train - that will connect Islands of Adventure with Universal Studios Florida - continues:

Some trucks can be seen from Sindbad's theater:

This is all. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything new to report in the other islands of the park. We will be back in the parks tomorrow, though, so stay tuned! Thank you for reading!

  1. Universal is just on a building spree!
Whether or not you agree with Harry Potter, you certainly can agree with the money it brought in, and what that money is being used for!
Unlike Disney who seems more interested in building more hotels, then attractions at Epcot or Hollywood.

  2. Anonymous ^^ I Agree With You! Universal Is Going To Town! Although Disney Is Expanding at 2 parks, Magic and Animal Kingdom. But Disney is leaving out the 2 parks that need the most help. Epcot and DHS. They Are in need badly. Epcot Should Be Getting another ride, not redoing a good one. And DHS is suppose to come out with an announcement soon so hopefully they get the monster's inc roller coaster!

  3. Here's my question though: why are they building the train station next to Sinbad? Why not just demolish Sinbad, since its so corny and the stunts are horrible! Sorry, but what is the point of keeping any part of The Lost Continent in tact? It makes more sense to put the train station there and turn Mythos into another eating venue for Potter. I know everyone loves Mythos, but are there any plans to turn what little is left of Lost Continent into more Potter?

  4. I seriously hope not, Unknown! The Lost Continent is a beautifully themed area that should never be removed in my humble opinion. It does need a lot of help, especially Poseidon's Fury (it could be so much better!). Sindbad only needs to have more stunts, otherwise it is fine with me. It is geared toward younger people, and it does have some amazing pyro effects!

  5. I use to love the lost continent but it seems like a waste of space now. I have never seen the sinbad show and I'm not going to, and Poseidon's Fury is cool but it could have been so much better. The only thing I like about the Lost Continent is Mythos. Even though I hate to say it, but they should go ahead and replace it with Harry Potter. I do enjoy the Forbidden Journey, but other then that, I'm not a big Harry Potter fan. I would hate to see Lost Continent go, but it's better than them putting it in Universal Studios too. Unfortunately, one of my favorite rides of all time (Jaws) is probably going to become another expansion area for Harry Potter, and when that does happen it will be a sad day for Universal Studios.
