LEGOLAND Florida Posts Hotel Representative Job


As many of us already know, LEGOLAND Florida will soon have a new themed hotel built on property. The question, though, is: "When will they officially reveal the specific plans about it?" Well, they may surprise us before the end of the year. On what do we base this affirmation? On the fact that the park has already made available an hotel's position that people can apply for (as reported by one of our readers not so long ago).

Job Title: Hotel Industry Sales Representative
Location: United States-Florida-Winter Haven

JOB DESCRIPTION

Description: Responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with local, regional, and national hotels to generate tourism results for LEGOLAND FLORIDA. Develops goals, targets, pursues and generates sales through assigned market segment. Assists in the development of collateral sales materials and promotions for targeted markets to increase visibility, increase sales, and maintain a high profile in the tourism community locally, domestically and internationally.
Requirements/Qualifications: Requires at least five years of progressive experience in the tourism industry, preferably in a theme park, hotel/resort, visitor bureau or related business. Requires a track record of success in promoting and selling to the tour or travel industry, with demonstrated ability to utilize local, regional, national and international markets to accomplish key sales objectives. 

Requires depth and breadth of knowledge of the hotel/resort market. Requires demonstrated ability to set and achieve sales objectives, plan strategies and methods, and effectively implement the sales plan in assigned markets. Requires professional selling skills, demonstrated skill in making presentations, ability to maintain existing clients and develop new business. Requires outstanding organizational, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong client and account management skills required. Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Powerpoint ) and database software is required. Requires the ability to build positive relationships and linkages with hotels, resorts, timeshares and other businesses to position and promote LEGOLAND FLORIDA. Knowledge of electronic ticketing systems a bonus.  


Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or closely related field (or equivalent education and experience) is required.

Responsibilities:
1. Develops comprehensive and detailed marketing and sales plan for hotels, resorts, timeshares and guest service desks to generate and increase sales in this market segment. Identifies and builds qualified leads, develops measurable goals and objectives, determines methods and frequency of in-person sales calls, telemarketing and other contacts. Proposes and coordinates public relations and advertising programs for assigned markets. 

2. Develops criteria for each account to include attendance goals, positioning of LEGOLAND FLORIDA against competitors, and marketing goals for each client (including familiarization tours, trade shows, promotions, advertising, and incentives). 

3. Prepares selling strategies for each account and coordinates sales calls, including collateral material. Reviews contract rates with sales manager prior to issuance. Conducts sales presentations for all market segments. Conducts “maintenance calls” to existing client base according to plan to ensure marketing and sales objectives are met or exceeded. Develops new clients in all market segments locally, and domestically. Calls on key accounts and hotel companies to stimulate business. 

4. Develops and initiates a scheduled client education program. Plans and coordinates ongoing contact and follow-up program for familiarization tours, trade shows and travel related media. 

5. Actively participates in various industry trade shows, meetings, seminars, and product launches to increase market awareness and development. Stays abreast of market and industry changes by researching markets and maintaining a strong relationship with resorts, hotels, time-share and other clients. 

6. Ensures organization, follow-up and closure on all sales calls, inquiries and commitments. Updates database and coordinates mailings to clients. 

7. Additional duties as assigned.
