What's Coming to the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade?

Just recently, we discussed about some enhancements coming soon to the Swiss Family Treehouse, which include a new, extended entrance and more. The Treehouse is not the only classic Magic Kingdom attraction that will soon receive new additions. Indeed, the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade may be another candidate attraction to receive some important enhancements.

The exhibit has been under an extensive refurbishment for months now, and the entire building was recently completely re-done, including the roof. Some rumors even say that the Shootin' Arcade will change its function after it reopens. While we do not claim to know any insider's information about the work that is taking place behind the tarps, we can rightly conclude that we'll see some concrete changes coming to the area. Why? Well, Imagineers are getting involved in the project.

Let's take a look at some pictures of the place:

Work is still underway, as you can see:

It looks like they're going to reopen the attraction later than they previously announced (October):

The new roof is almost done:

And now, here you are some pictures behind the walls:

As you can see, an Imagineer was taking care of something:

Usually, when general refurbishments take place in the park, Imagineers do not have to supervise the work, as it is just repainting and other minor structural work:

In other cases, though, Imagineers have to be present to build something new, or re-imagine an attraction (for example, they were present when building the new themed queue of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh):

So, what can we expect from this lengthy rehab of the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade? Well, surely something interesting! Stay tuned to know if new information about this refurbishment are released!
