Magic Kingdom Update - More Refurbishments

Magic Kingdom is already receiving a lot of attention due to the new, enormous Fantasyland Expansion. This doesn't mean that Fantasyland is the only 'land' of the park that is receiving attention. Indeed, many other areas of the park have been taken over by tarps, used to hide the work being done on the buildings' facades, and according to some rumors, not all the work being done is just to repaint or clean them. There may be something else involved. Something like an interactive game.

But, we'll touch on that later. First of all, let's check out the Magic Kingdom in general:

The Exposition Hall:

It was very crowded... once it started raining:

The Confectionery's facade has finally been completed:

You can see the new additions in these pictures:

It looks great:

The Firehouse is finally closed, but here's where the rumor comes from. According to some insiders, in fact, this will be the central location for a new interactive game, which will be very similar to the already existing "Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure" at Epcot, where you are given a device that helps you to search for clues to ultimately find the "villain" of the area:

Many have called it "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom".

It looks like they have a 'closed-door' policy in place here:

Going to the Hub:

A better look at the great Adventureland bridge (they did a great job with it!):

Work continue on the Enchanted Tiki Room. Nothing new to report:

Some work is going on in the Pirates of the Caribbean Plaza, and it is especially worth reporting because some have speculated that it may be linked with the new interactive game:

They're doing something with the window...

Maybe we'll see a character behind those bars:

The Passage between Frontierland and the Caribbean Plaza is currently under refurbishment too:

We don't know yet if this work is related to the new game:

Under the Passage, it looks like they've repainted the rafters:

On the other side:

Work also continues on Pecos Bill's facade:

The Frontierland Shooting Arcade is also speculated to become part of the game:

A new, very low wall has gone up near the entrance to the Liberty Square Riverboat Landing entrance:

Guess what? this may be one of the few "check-points" for the new "Sorcerers of the magic Kingdom" game:

  1. thanks for reminding me why we stay away in the summer- whereever you had people in the shots, there were LOTS of them!!

  2. @anonyn- I totally agreed. Every time you tried to take a pic is crowded, with people. I just got home today, after almost 2 weeks and every day was like that. Sadly I've only gone on July so it is always been like that for me.

@Samuele- I look at your pics and laugh... cause I was just standing there one or two days ago and was familiar with the shooting upwards so that people won't be on the photos. Besides I noticed it also got dark that happened to some of my photos too. They just don't come out as great with the shadows... Right? Anyhow you did a great job as always!

  3. I can deal with people being on the photo if they're a bit farther away. Like the one of Pirates (with the motorized cars (I said strollers before...) - When I took my pic it there was only one of those I tried to leave it out... but sadly I couldn't. People and the cars kind of look as if they were part of the scene, plus we tend to focus more on the building anyway...

I just hate when people walk right in front of you and you see Pirates, the sign, the Clock Tower and a big gigantic bald head besides it!!
