Is Universal Orlando getting a new waterpark?

As you may know, Universal Orlando resort already has a waterpark, that is known as "Wet 'n' Wild", located in International Drive. But they're not so proud of it for some reasons: It's NOT themed, they have to pay the lease for the land it sits on, it's too old (it is actually Orlando's oldest waterpark) and it's not easily accessible from the two main Universal  Theme Parks.

So, are they building a new one? Not really.

Screamscape has reported a very interesting link where Universal has posted an interesting survey about a "POSSIBLE" waterpark, but they repeat that for now it's only a blue sky project, and that they didn't begin to build anything... at the moment.

Here's Screamscape's news:

Universal Orlando is conducting a survey online that asks a lot of questions about a possible new blue sky waterpark concept. It claims that they don’t have anything planned yet, but are using this to find out what people think about waterparks for “when a project does come up”. Well we all know the lease on the property Wet ‘n Wild sits on will eventually expire or just become too cost prohibitive, so the fact that Universal is fishing for waterpark ideas and freeback is a good sign.
Overall they seem interesting in what the public’s perception of an official Universal themed waterpark would be, and what it should have. Should they have attractions tied into movies and entertainment properties? If so, they want suggestions as to what you would like to see, so go give them your ideas.

To take the survey and give YOUR ideas, go to this link:

We highly recommend you to participate to the survey, because it will encourage Universal to build a new waterpark that may finally meet the standards of all the other waterparks in the area!

  1. I heard it's coming sooner than later, maybe by the end of the next decade. It's where they'll spend that fat Harry Potter cash.

King Kong as a Proslide Mammoth, with Skull Island, WaterWorld slide complex, Madagascar-themed play area for kids, and a Jaws/Amity-themed wave pool (with Jaws replaced in the Studios park)? Sign me up.

  2. Those are great ideas!! If you have more, please share them! the only thing I didn't like is the fact that you would like the JAWS ride to go away?? No, please!!! I love it! It's one of Universal Studios' signature rides!!
