IOA update (July 15,2010)

Here you are a new IOA update!

The entrance:

Nothing new here... it seems like Universal has abandoned this boat-ride... :

There's no hope for this either... :

All the park's areas were just repainted last month, and they're already dirty again!
Some tourists don't care!!:

The old Skipper boat's tour:

Snow... in Florida?:

No more lockers here.. i wonder if they'll destroy this wooden roof, or if they'll just leave it there:

A look at the new (and cheap) arch:

I actually like it. They did a good job if you consider that's only temporary:

Nice overview of the park:

All these crows are in the wrong island... :

An extended queue of an already extended queue:

This was actually OPEN!!! Yay!!:

Nothing new here:

??:

Aggro Circus has come back for a limited engagement:

They were looking for single riders in many rides:

Hulk still dirty, but the rust has been finally covered.... by dust!!!:

woosh!:

Thanks for viewing!!

  1. Great report as always!! I am going to Universal and Disney in a couple of days and how are the lines at IOA and especially Harry Potter?

  2. First of all, thanks!!
The lines are a bit long now, with the new FJ having a fixed 90 minutes queue.... The rest of the park is a bit crowded too, especially Dudley Do-Right and Spiderman.

  3. It seems that, now the initial Potterland rush has died down, less people are crowding to get in and more people are spreading back out into the rest of the park(s). We went the Monday after Potterland opened and Universal and most of IOA was a ghost town. It was spectacular.

  4. Thanks for the info! My family and I are mainly Disney people and we go every summer, but this time we decided to take a few days away from Disney to go to Universal and check it out. We are all really excited!

Thanks again and keep up the good work as always with the site!!

  5. Great update! I was just there this past Saturday with a family member from out of town. We had a blast exploring the entire park...but I think he really liked the WWoHP! When he and my brother enjoyed Spiderman, I walked around the park and simply got to enjoy the themeing. It really is great at IOA. The longest wait I was in all day was for Forbidden Journey, which was 75 minutes. It goes by quick once you enter the actual castle. It was my first time on the ride, despite having walked the queue on opening day. It was a good ride, but I expected something more with all the hype. What truly let me down was the story line. I didn't feel it flowed...and being the Potter die-hard that I am, I could have come up with a dozen storylines that would have been more cohesive. If they truly wanted to stay to one part from the story and have it make sense, Chamber of Secrets would have been a winner (with the Whomping Willows, Quidditch, the Acromantulas and the actual Chamber itself with the Basilisk.
And yes, the Hulk seriously needs some tending to...

  6. @ mwedon112: Thank you so much!! I recommend a visit to universal without any doubt!!

@ Marina: I'm very happy that you enjoyed your visit! Yes, there's so much to do at IOA! And I can't agree more with you: the Hulk coaster NEEDS to be repainted as soon as possible!!!!

  7. Great update! I finally got to go back to IOA last week and FJ had a SINGLE RIDER LINE!! Only took about 20 minutes to wait but you don't get to go through the whole castle (but you can do separately as a tour). So just a heads up if people don't want to wait 90 minutes! :)
