Disney Worker Struck By Ride

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- A Disney cast member is recovering after he was struck by a guest who was driving what Disney calls a ride vehicle.

It happened Sunday at the Tomorrowland Speedway attraction at Magic Kingdom.

Disney officials closed the attraction while Orange County deputies investigated. The attraction reopened around 3:30 p.m.

The cast member was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. His injuries are non-life-threatening.

The guest was not injured.

The names of the guest and cast member have not been released.

No one else was involved in the accident.

Susan Zikovich was on the Tomorrowland Speedway earlier Sunday.

"I think weird things just happen. You get busy having fun and not paying attention to what you're doing, waving and people are taking pictures," Zikovich said.

Zikovich is here for a family reunion. She said she would go on the attraction again.
