Islands of Adventure - A look around the park

We've got a pretty nice update today, with some pictures around the park in general, including some up-close photos of the burned part of Dudley's facade! Read more:

It was rainy (but we needed rain a lot, so no complaints on this) and a bit cool (but not bad), so the park was not busy at all. You will have a pretty big proof of this later on, during the update. It looked very strange without sunlight, as in Florida there are more than 360 days of sun (with occasional, short rains):

Some pictures of Port of Entry:

The wait times for the day:

See? Not bad at all:

Rainy:

Which image looks better?

WHAT SHOULD BE:

WHAT REALLY LOOKS LIKE:

One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue Fish was back open after a short refurbishment:

Here I would love to see a great, new ride:

Mythos is once again very moldy:

The stroller area (near "Dragon Challenge") has been closed and is now a storage area:

The most famous ride at IOA (at the moment) had a 10-minute wait:

The Watering Hole has a brand-new sign:

It is now sponsored by "Coca Cola":

For comparison:

THE OLD SIGN:

THE NEW SIGN:

How sad. The Triceratops Discovery Trail:

The positive thing is that at least the older sign (with the name "triceratops" and the description) is not back, so the attraction will reopen at the next busy holidays:

The wait time sign is still there too:

Work on Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls:

Both sides are now boarded up:

CONSTRUCTION PICTURES (CLICK ON THEM TO SEE THEM IN A BIGGER SIZE):

END OF CONSTRUCTION PICTURES

EXCLUSIVE! Here's where the fire broke out!:

You can clearly see the black spot caused by the fire on the left:

This new "dryer" was not working:

Some TOON LAGOON pictures:

  4. Glad to see you are experiencing color level on photoshop!!!
Cat in the hat is a great ride but the red is one of the worst color o expose to the Florida's sun!!!!

I must say thank you for the picture about the fire on Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls! The fire flare up exactly where we suppose it started !!!!

It's a bit sad see a rainy day in the state where the sun ever shine!!! But you need even this days!!!

  5. Ah... and Mythos is too much moldy... I can understand some mold but this is too much!!
I think Universal with water made rhyme wih the word DIRT!! (Hulk, Mythos, ecc..)

  6. Hey
Regarding those dryers do you have to pay to use them, and do they work?

  7. Matt,
yes, you do have to pay to use them )(around $5), and yes, they usually work (but this one, which was broken, of course!).

Bigfoot: You're right, but Mythos was actually cleaned last month... it got dirty again!! But it's better dirty than not working!!

  8. Wow... in only 30 days it get dirty like this??? I think the problem is they use the lake's water and the can't use some algae (I hope is the right English word for Antialga) products and this is the result... this problem can't be fixed but I prefer some mold on mythos instead to pollute the beautiful "Universal's lake"

  9. Too bad they couldn't move The Hulk under Mythos - that way, the mold that Mythos produces would at least keep The Hulk green! ; )
Bigfoots, we did have a little snow in New Hampshire this morning - we're supposed to get a big storm on Wednesday. I'll trade that for a rainy day at Universal any time (as I know you would too). Ciao for now!

  10. 10 minutes for Forbidden Journey! That's unheard of! Wow! I went last weekend....had a blast. The line for FJ was long...I saw it at 120 at one point. Dragon Challenge was as high as 45, but honestly, we never waited longer than 15 minutes. Hulk was very reasonable at 25-30. I was surprised at the amount of people, but it was a very enjoyable trip. Thanks for the update!
