President of SeaWorld Orlando Plans to Reduce Attractions Closures and Long Lines in 2023

Earlier today, Jon Peterson (the current President of SeaWorld Orlando) sent an email to all current SeaWorld Annual Passholders outlining what the park was able to achieve in 2022 and what Guests can look forward to in 2023. In addition to that, the email mentions that the park is aware of the challenges that have affected park operations last year, and that management will work hard to fix them in order to "deliver a high quality and consistent experience" to Guests.

Here's the full email that was sent to Pass Members earlier today (Monday, January 30, 2023):

Dear Pass Member,

On behalf of all of us at SeaWorld Orlando, thank you for being part of our Pass Member family. As we look toward an amazing year ahead, it’s important to celebrate the attractions, additions, and milestones from 2022. As one of the largest marine animal rescue organizations in the world, we surpassed over 40,000 animal rescues of injured, sick, and orphaned marine animals and birds. A big shout out to our amazing SeaWorld Rescue Team for their continued efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and return animals back to their natural environments. Just by coming to our parks, you become a part of this mission too as a portion of park proceeds go toward funding these conservation efforts. So, on behalf of all of us, thank you for supporting this important work. We also opened the award-winning Ice Breaker, refurbished some of our most iconic rides and animal habitats, and added a variety of food and beverage options across all our park.

We recognize that 2022 brought with it some challenges and obstacles that may have at times impacted your park experience. We all felt the impact this year of cold temperatures, severe weather, and hurricanes that impacted our Orlando parks. Staffing shortages as well as supply chain issues also affected our park operations at times in 2022. As we embark on 2023, our goal is to improve in these areas and reduce attraction closures and long lines, and deliver a high quality and consistent experience to our guests. As we dive into 2023, we are excited to share with you a sneak peek at some of the major additions coming to SeaWorld Orlando.

This Spring, get ready to hang loose when the highly anticipated “Pipeline: The Surf Coaster” opens. This will be the world’s first surf coaster, starting with a dynamic launch and “wave jumping” seats that will give riders the feeling they are actually surfing. Pipeline will be the 7th rollercoaster at SeaWorld Orlando, reinforcing our park as the Coaster Capital of Orlando and will transform our park’s skyline. As always, we’re excited to offer Pass Members the opportunity to be amongst the first to ride Pipeline, so start planning your visit this Spring!

SeaWorld Orlando is known for its incredible lineup of events throughout the year. In 2023, we are expanding each event and adding MORE performers, MORE music, and MORE entertainment. We started off the year with Inside Look featuring behind-the-scenes experiences curated to inspire the next generation of marine animal conservationists. January 14-31, we invite all our guests to have a cold one on us and enjoy free beer in the park. We are also gearing up for our famous culinary spectacular, the Seven Seas Food Festival taking place February 3-May 7, which will feature delicious sips and samples of cuisines from around-the-world, energizing entertainment, and includes our annual Mardi Gras celebration.

There are so many new and exciting things coming to our parks in 2023 and we can’t wait for you to have the first look and experience them all! As a thank you for being a Pass Member, we want you to start the year off with some amazing offers! Your added rewards at SeaWorld include a free animal button, a free Pipeline magnet, a free Ice Breaker lanyard, a discounted exclusive Seven Seas sampling lanyard, and more. Review the rewards calendar and make your plans to visit the parks today!

We look forward to seeing you at SeaWorld Orlando! Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Jon Peterson
