PHOTOS: New Digital Road Signs Installed Near EPCOT and Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf

As previously reported, Walt Disney World is currently in the process of upgrading the iconic purple roadway signs scattered around the resort while crews also continue to introduce major changes to enhance the flow of traffic.

In addition to these modifications, we noticed that a different type of directional signage is being installed in select areas of the resort. As seen in the photos below, a new digital road sign can now be spotted next to Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf. It is clear that crews are still working on this project, and the bare supports should be covered soon:

Since the Walt Disney World Resort would have most likely installed a regular road signs to display the names of theme parks, resorts, and major roadways, we wonder if these digital signs will display important advisories regarding road closures during special events, such as marathons or after-hours parties that involve perimeter fireworks. It's also possible that these signs could display the availability (or lack) of park reservations.

Here's a look at the backside of the sign, which has already been covered with an initial layer to protect it from the elements:

A very similar sign (not pictured) is also being installed by the right shoulder of World Drive, near the exit ramp leading to the EPCOT Auto Plaza. That road sign currently does not feature an LED component, which should be added soon.
