Walt Disney World Guests Will Soon Be Able to Modify Genie+ Lightning Lane Selections

Over the past year, the Walt Disney World Resort rolled out a series of helpful updates and enhancements to Disney Genie+ service. Ever since this new service was introduced, Guests that wished to change a Lightning Lane selection with Disney Genie+ service were not able to do so without canceling their original booking first. 


To make it easier to change plans on the go, Guests will soon be able to modify Lightning Lane selections made with Disney Genie+ service without having to cancel and rebook their selection altogether. Guests will now be able to quickly search for and select other available attractions or arrival windows, helping them maximize their time in the theme parks.

HOW TO MODIFY DISNEY GENIE+ SELECTIONS:
  1. Select "•••" on your Lightning Lane selection from the Tip Board or My Day tab
  2. Select "Modify Plan" from the menu that appears.
  3. After selecting "Modify Plan," Lightning Lane experiences available with Disney Genie+ service at the park where the selection was originally made will appear. You may adjust their arrival window to a different time that is currently available, or may select a new experience to replace their Lightning Lane selection.

By selecting one of these options, the Guest will be able to confirm the change. For Guests who want to make a change for specific members of their party, they can adjust the party members prior to confirming the change.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will the timeframe for when Guests are able to book their next selection change if their original selection is modified?
No. Guests are able to make another Lightning Lane selection with Disney Genie+ service once they redeem their current selection, once their full arrival window has passed, or after 120 minutes has passed from the original booking (or 120 minutes after the published park opening time, whichever is later).

Are Guests able to modify a Lightning Lane selection made with Disney Genie+ service for an available experience at another park?
With this new functionality, Guests may modify selections for the park in which the original selection was made. If a Guest wishes to make a selection at a different park, they should first cancel their selection, and then proceed to make a selection at the other park.

Can Guests modify individual (a la carte) Lightning Lane selections?
No. The ability to modify selections only applies to experiences offered through Disney Genie+ service.
