RUMOR: Blizzard Beach Reopening This Fall, Kids' Water Play Area to Receive Enhancements

On January 2, 2022, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park closed to Guests for a major refurbishment project. Eight months later, the water park is still closed as crews continue to work on many of the aging facilities and attractions that have been operating seasonally for the past 27 years. Now, it appears that the Walt Disney World Resort is finally getting ready to officially announce the reopening date of this unique water park.

According to recent rumors, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will reopen to Guests by the end of October or the beginning of November (unless unexpected issues force the park to remain closed for a longer period of time). At that time, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will very likely close down for refurbishment, even though it's not expected to be as extensive. Expect the announcement to be made by the end of September.

Additionally, while the Walt Disney World Resort hasn't officially confirmed this yet, it appears that Tike's Peak (one of the park's water play areas) may have received some enhancements. Here's the description of this attraction, as seen on Walt Disney World's official website:

The junior set plays at this polar-themed wonderland with pint-sized waterslides and aquatic activities. Little ones get to have big fun on these scaled-down thrills, including:
  • Miniature snow-banked slides
  • Side-by-side downhill slides
  • A junior inner-tube ride
  • Snow chutes
Watch your little squirts splash out in wading pools featuring “melting” snow sculptures—or start a water fight at an igloo fortress with pop-up water jets. Ready to dry off? The sandy areas around Tike’s Peak are perfect for sunbathing and making sandcastles!

While we do not know what these enhancements will involve, it's very likely that Disney characters will be incorporated into the water play area (Olaf & friends, anyone?). Of course, this is simply speculation...
