Yesterday afternoon, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay officially announced that the park will remain closed on September 27-29 due to the approaching hurricane. Both Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island (the water park located next door) are currently expected to reopen to Guests on September 30. Here's the official statement:

"To ensure the safety of our ambassadors, guests, and animals as Hurricane Ian moves through Florida, Busch Gardens will be closed on [Tuesday, Sept. 27,] Wednesday, Sept. 28, [and] Thursday, Sept. 29. Our weather preparedness plan is in place and extra precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of our animals during this time. Guests are encouraged to check our website and follow our social media channels for updates on park reopening."

As a result of this temporary closure, all admission tickets have been extended through December 31. Annual Pass members’ guest tickets with an expiration date of September 30 will be extended through October 16.
