Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course Undergoing Most Extensive Redesign Project Ever

As part of its collaboration with Arnold Palmer Golf Management, the Walt Disney World Resort is currently redesigning part of the Magnolia course. As part of this major project, four holes – No. 14, No. 15, No. 16, and No. 17 – will be reimagined with innovative layouts and landscaping. This redesign of the Magnolia course represents the latest enhancement to the course since 2015, when Disney upgraded the bunkers and cart paths.

Holes No. 16 and No. 17 will be connected by a new, wooden cart bridge through the forest and several fairway and greenside bunkers are being installed along with more challenging tee boxes. Additionally, the course’s 18 greens will be upgraded to create even more pristine putting surfaces.

Once the project is completed, the course will be even more fun for our recreational golfers and their families while still remaining challenging for the most skilled golfers in the world, including the PGA Tour pros who occasionally play there.

Two PGA Tour stars – 2017 Masters winner Sergio Garcia and 2019 US Open champion Gary Woodland – recently got a sneak peek at the redesign and both walked away impressed.

“It will be amazing. The 15th (becoming) a big par 5; 16 is a long par 4 and they’ve brought in water perfectly,’’ said Woodland. “You’re going to have four closing holes down the stretch that will test every aspect of your game. It’ll be a great finish here at Magnolia.”

Added Garcia: “It’s a fun course to play. When (golfers) finish their rounds, they can’t wait to come back and I think that’s something the Magnolia course will have.’’

Stay tuned for more details as the work progresses on the Magnolia course and get ready for when the new-look course debuts later this year.
