Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Cafe Closed Permanently at Universal Orlando Resort

Yesterday morning, Universal Orlando officially confirmed that one of its themed quick-service restaurants has closed its doors for good. The resort released the following statement regarding Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Cafe:

"After more than 20 years of serving dreadfully-delicious quick-service menu offerings, Monsters Cafe in Universal Studios Florida permanently closed in the spring of 2022 to make way for a new dining experience." - SOURCE

The restaurant was located in the Production Central area of Universal Studios Florida and featured a menu including rotisserie chicken, pizza, brisket, salad, and ribs. Despite its solid menu and great theming, the location was rarely very busy and had very limited operating hours.

According to recent rumors, the restaurant may be converted into a Minions Café to match the theme of the nearby Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride and the upcoming minion-themed attraction that will replace the former Shrek 4-D (which was located in the same area of the park), essentially turning the majority of Production Central into a Despicable Me-themed area.
