SeaWorld Orlando Update: Attractions Closing Early, New Glacier Bar Opens, & More (PART 1)

SeaWorld Orlando has introduced a few changes over the past few weeks. While not all of them may be considered positive, there are a few additions that we are sure Guests will thoroughly enjoy. Let's begin our virtual tour of the park:

The park was very quiet when we visited just a couple of days ago:

Our first stop will be Key West:

We got to the park around 2:50 p.m., so we were able to walk around this area of the park for just a few minutes. The entire area surrounding Key West closes at 3 p.m. on weekdays. That's mind-boggling to us. The park officially closed at 6 p.m. that day:

Journey to Atlantis and Kraken were also closed, but it wasn't clear if they were closed the entire day or if they both closed earlier than the rest of the park:

Keep in mind that the park was going to be open for three more hours:

Similarly, Antarctica closed earlier than the rest of the park:

The Waterfront was open, yet the Sky Tower is still closed:

Mako was open:

Surprisingly enough, Infinity Falls was also operating; that said, it was quite cool that day (low 70's):

The cool weather caused the ride to have a mere 10-minute wait:

Sesame Street is one of our favorite areas of the park thanks to the attention to details and colorful environment:

  1. I believe Journey to Atlantis has been closed since March as well as the ride portion of Antarctica. With so many rides down, I can't fathom why anyone pay to see SeaWorld in such a sorry state.

Are they really doing photos with Elmo inside the gift shop again?

  3. I go at least once a week. The rolling closures started somewhere in the middle of September. Mondays through Thursdays. Friday-Sunday, all areas are open for the full operating day. Atlantis and Kraken have been open all along. The Antarctica ride has been closed since they reopened. I'm told due to social distancing. The sky tower has also been closed since the park reopened, likely due to social distancing. No word on when or if it will ever reopen. It may be cheaper for them to just leave it SBNO. I doubt we'll see the Wild Arctic ride operate again. It's old, may not be able to get parts, etc. Same with the Turtle Trek movie.
