Additional Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Reopening Later This Year

As previously announced, the Walt Disney World Resort is currently in the process of reopening its theme parks and hotels in phases. Due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state of Florida, Disney is taking a measured and deliberate approach to reopening the resort by adding a number of health and safety measures.

The Walt Disney World Resort has to remain nimble and be ready to adjust and make changes going forward. The ongoing evolution of the pandemic means that Disney needs to venture into the future with care as the company considers the phased reopening plans for its hotels and other experiences such as transportation, recreation, and water parks.

With that in mind, the Walt Disney World Resort is looking forward to the next phase and currently plan to reopen these resort hotels – in addition to those already announced – on the following dates:
  • July 10 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • July 29 – Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Aug. 12 – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Aug. 24 – Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
  • Sept. 21 – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Oct. 1 – Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
  • Oct. 14 – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

Given the current situation, there are some resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet. The Walt Disney World Resort will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when it will be safe to do so.
