Walt Disney World Reverses Decision to Reduce Operating Hours of Select Epcot Attractions

Just a few days ago, the Walt Disney World Resort announced that the operating hours of select Epcot attractions would be reduced starting February 23. Yesterday evening, Disney announced (internally) that this decision was reversed.

The operating hours of the following Epcot attractions will NOT be changed:
  • Awesome Planet: 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
  • Canada Far and Wide: 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
  • Beauty and The Beast Sing Along: 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
  • Impressions de France: 7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
  • American Adventure: The 9:00 p.m. show is back
  • Reflections of China: 11:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m.

We are certainly glad to hear that the Walt Disney World Resort decided against moving forward with these changes, as cutting operating hours is never received well by Guests. That said, be sure to keep in mind that the following attractions will NOT participate in evening Extra Magic Hours:
  • American Adventure
  • Awesome Planet
  • Canada Far and Wide

  1. Good because this was obviously Disney executives just trying to save a buck on hours. Visitors that pay to enter the park should be allowed to experience ALL attractions without restrictions. Imagine wanting to visit an attraction and near the end of your visit and not being able to because of shorter hours. It leaves a negative effect which then unmotivated them to spend money in shops after park closing etc. It's just a bad move and I applaud Disney bringing back full hours.
