This Week in Disney History: September 9-15, 2019

On Sept. 10, 2007, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened at Walt Disney World Resort in Magic Kingdom Park. There, Fairy Godmothers-in-Training will pamper and primp young Guests until they look storybook stunning. Children can choose a hairstyle then add makeup, nail color, accessories, and even a Disney Princess costume.

Sept. 9: 
1990 –The Magical World of Disney airs for the final time on NBC

Sept. 10
2007 –The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opens at Walt Disney World Resort in Magic Kingdom Park

Sept. 11
2009 –A Buzz Lightyear action figure completes his journey with the crew of the space shuttle Discovery, landing safely at Edwards Air Force Base in California

Sept. 12
2013 –Princess Fairytale Hall opens at Walt Disney World Resort in Magic Kingdom Park

Sept. 13
1997 –The second season of Muppets Tonight premieres on Disney Channel

Sept. 14
1969 –The television series The Wonderful World of Disney debuts on NBC

Sept. 15
2006 –The first annual Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend begins
