World's Tallest Free-Standing Drop Tower, Slingshot Ride Coming to ICON Park
Just a few days ago, ICON Park announced that two new thrill rides will soon be installed next to the iconic observation wheel located along International Drive: a slingshot ride and a drop tower.
Once installed, the new Orlando Slingshot will become the world's tallest slingshot ride at 300' tall, while the Orlando Gyro Drop Tower (which will be the tallest free-standing drop tower in the world) will be 400' tall. Similar to Falcon's Fury at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the drop tower's seats will rotate with an unexpected twist as it drops down. Both attractions are expected to open to the public in Spring 2020.
