Major Changes Coming to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Starting October 8

The Walt Disney World Resort recently confirmed that Old Port Royale will open its shutters on Monday, October 8 at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. The refurbished location will include many new and refreshed island offerings such as Centertown Market, Sebastian’s Bistro, Banana Cabana, Calypso Trading Post, and a new, breezy front desk and concierge area.



In addition to that, several new changes are coming to the resort on October 8:

Victory Way Entrance
Beginning October 5, Security will staff the new resort entrance on Victory Way. On October 8, the Buena Vista Drive entrance will close to Guest and Cast Member traffic. Buses will also enter and exit the resort using Victory Way.

Island Name Updates
Trinidad North will become Barbados, and Trinidad South will become Trinidad. Buildings and bus stop signage will transition to the new island names on October 8.

Amenities No Longer Available Starting October 8: 
As part of the transition to the new offerings, many of the current locations will be unavailable beginning October 8. This includes:
  1. Martinique Island Market (the Island Markets in Aruba and Jamaica will remain open until further notice)
  2. Food & Beverage pavilion
  3. Food Truck and Banana Cabana trailer
  4. Merchandise kiosk
  5. Room 3109
  6. Custom House (pick-up for Disney’s Magical Express, Disney Cruise Line and luggage delivery will move to Old Port Royale in the early morning hours of October 8. An internal shuttle to Old Port Royale will be available for Guests staying at the resort who try to reach Custom House on October 8.)
