Starting from today, this interesting series will be published every week, featuring highlights from all the divisions of The Walt Disney Company. Let's see what happened this week:

The 25th anniversary of Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park
Although this week in Disney history marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park, the residents of the area have lived in Toontown for much longer! As the story goes, after Mickey Mouse became a star in 1928, he found the perfect home in a quiet residential Toon suburb away from the hustle of Hollywood. When Walt Disney was looking for the area to build his “amusement enterprise” in the early 1950s, Mickey Mouse suggested the fields of orange groves surrounding his neighborhood. The only request he had was that Mickey’s Toontown was to be kept secret. They agreed, and Disneyland opened nearby on July 17, 1955. Years later, the residents of Mickey’s Toontown decided that they wanted to open the gates to their secret hideaway to non-Toon guests. Thus, on Jan. 24, 1993, Guests from Disneyland were first invited to visit Mickey’s Toontown. Today, Guests can enjoy attractions, shopping, and dining in this immersive world full of topsy-turvy architecture and iconic Disney friends.
