Disney's Vero Beach Resort Receives AAA 4-Diamond Rating

Disney's Vero Beach Resort recently received a coveted four-diamond rating from AAA, an honor that goes to fewer than six percent of the nearly 28,000 hotels that are officially approved by AAA (many vacationers rely on their diamond rating system to help them choose which resort is the best option for them). According to AAA, "A Four Diamond hotel is refined and stylish, providing upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail."

Disney's Vero Beach Resort, a Disney Vacation Club Resort, is located on Florida's East Coast and has long been a favorite amongst Guests looking for a relaxing beach vacation. With its Old Florida charm and Treasure Coast location, Guests are immersed in the themes of citrus, treasure and the environment.

The resort boasts a variety of water-themed activities, including access to the warm waters of the Atlantic, a children's water play area, a miniature golf course, a Mickey Mouse-shaped swimming pool complete with a water slide and so much more. Plus, Guests can enjoy the resort's new dining location, Wind & Waves, which is divided into three distinct areas - a grill, a market and a poolside bar area. The grill features locally sourced produce and fresh Florida seafood, while the market gives Members and Guests a quick place for grab-and-go meals.

Additionally, visitors can enjoy a Saturday morning breakfast with character, when Goofy makes an appearance as part of Goofy's Beachside Character Breakfast. For those interested in being pampered, The Spa at Disney's Vero Beach Resort offers massages and other soothing spa treatments, while kids and kids at heart will enjoy family fun at the sing-along campfire, where s'mores are on the menu and silly songs and stores are the entertainment.

However, one of the biggest draws for this resort are the sea turtles. The beaches that run past Disney's Vero Beach Resort are among the most important turtle-nesting habitats in the western hemisphere, as they are frequented by three species of threatened or endangered sea turtles: loggerheads, greens and leatherbacks. From May through October, Guests can join an outing to observe these beautiful creatures during nesting season and the resort is dedicated to ensuring sea turtles come back to this location year after year to nest. Guests can learn more about sea turtle conservation and the work Disney Cast Members and VoluntEARS do to protect these species through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund while they visit the resort.

Finally, the accommodations at Disney's Vero Beach Resort are stunning, as Guests can choose between Deluxe Studios and Inn rooms (sleep up to four) and one- and two-bedroom Villas which feature full-size kitchens, washers and dryers and sleep up to five and nine Guests, respectively. With many rooms boasting ocean views, this resort truly is not to be missed!

  1. As someone who spent years working in hotels, I can say that a AAA 4-Diamond Rating is a big deal. AAA inspections are done anonymously. Whenever possible, the criteria is not subjective. (For example: Did the Front Desk agent use the guest's name during check-in.) There are pages of requirements for each area of the hotel.

According to AAA, they rate 28,000 hotels and only 5.7% earn a 4-Diamond Rating.
