Animal Kingdom Update: Discovery Island Work (PART 2)

Welcome to the second part of our newest Disney's Animal Kingdom photo-report. As usual, we encourage you to check out PART 1 to find even more photos of the park.
In the previous part of this new update, we walked around the Oasis, Discovery Island (there's actually a lot going on in that area, even though most Guests visiting the park might not notice some of the things we pointed out), and a few other areas of the park. Let's continue to walk around Disney's Animal Kingdom to see what else is new.

As Disney recently confirmed, Guests walking along Caravan Road (the pathway between Africa and Asia) will soon be able to get a great view of the Tree of Life Awakening shows starting in May:

More work is being done behind this kiosk in Asia:

The new roof of the Caravan Theater is still exposed and unthemed:

We're now in the heart of Asia:

‪Did you know that Disney Imagineers add or move props around the fictional Yeti Palace Hotel during a refurbishment to make it look like an active construction site?:

Also, some countries in Asia do not require people to pay taxes on buildings they own if they are still under construction; therefore, some people never really complete construction to avoid paying more taxes. Realism at its best:

‪Did you know that this was an actual truck bought by Imagineers in Asia? Today only the front of the truck remains from the original vehicle.:

The person that painted the sides of the truck included a depiction of his favorite ride: Splash Mountain:

Continuing our tour of the park:

The famous "hugging trees" can be found next to the Thirsty River Bar:

Our final stop will be DinoLand U.S.A.:

The Dino-Bites Snacks location is rarely open nowadays:

Before leaving the park, we noticed that the large tree located by the Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant has been replaced by a very tiny palm tree. The old tree will definitely be missed:

  2. DinoBites is open every single day from noon to park close. It's part of the deal with Haagen Daas. As a matter of fact all of the Dinoland food locations have been open everyday for weeks now.

  3. I wonder what's taking them so long on the Flights of Wonder theater?

It's stunning how much work is going into the park right now. So many new details and pieces of theming. I've never seen a park in better condition. Wouldn't be surprised to see Everest get a big refurb after Pandora opens.
