Old Town has been through some quite difficult times. In the past few years, this small entertainment and shopping district lost almost all of its rides, attractions, and... charm. That being said, this once-great tourist attraction is slowly coming back to life thanks to a very important (and needed) revitalization project that includes a completely new entrance, new landscaping, refurbished public areas, new offerings, and more. Let's take a look around Old Town together, shall we?
These photos were taken a few days ago. The wheel looks almost complete now.
One of the many gondolas that are being installed:
The wheel will sit between the new entrance and exit roadways:
Let's walk around the rest of Old Town:
The former drop tower is no more:
Younger (and smaller) trees are being planted in the middle of the walkways:
Some of the more mature trees are still in place:
We hope to see more original shops and offerings in the future:
Four flat rides have been installed near the very back of Old Town:
They belong to the neighboring Fun Spot America:
Since we are in the area, let's check out Fun Spot:
Some new, themed elements are slowly making their way into this park:
It looks very clean:
Head Rush is the park's newest addition:
Galaxy Spin was the name of this coaster when it was located at the Cypress Gardens Adventure Park:
