Additional Roadway Changes to Impact World Drive

To accommodate upcoming road work needs, overnight construction will occur in phases at a couple of locations along World Drive the week of August 29.
For your safety and the safety of those working on this project, those who will be driving around the area are encouraged to follow all signage and directions and take extra caution. Continue reading this post to learn more about what will be involved in this construction project and how it may impact your travel plans.

South World Drive (near Disney's Hollywood Studios)

• Through early September: The right lane of northbound World Drive will be closed between Osceola Parkway and just before the Buena Vista Drive intersection.
• Through mid-September: Southbound World Drive will be reduced to two lanes between Osceola Parkway and just before the Buena Vista Drive intersection. Additional phases will begin over the next several weeks and details of the impact will be shared at a later date.

North World Drive (near Disney's Contemporary Resort)

• Sunday through Tuesday, Aug. 28 to 30, 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.: World Drive will be closed to all traffic between the entry of Disney's Contemporary Resort and Seven Seas Drive. During the closure, drivers will be detoured on Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way.
• Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.: World Drive will be closed between the entry of Disney's Contemporary Resort and Seven Seas Drive. WDW Transportation vehicles and Guests staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort may continue to use World Drive; however, all other traffic will be detoured on Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way.
