Port Orleans Resort Food Court Closing for Refurbishment

Beginning July 11, the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory food court will be temporarily closed for future enhancements at Disney's Port Orleans Resort.
An alternative dining experience will be available adjacent to the lobby and Scat Cat’s Lounge. This location will be serving Guest favorites such as jambalaya, gumbo, po-boy sandwiches, other hot and cold entrees, and the resort's famous beignets. A selection of grab ‘n’ go meals also will be available for purchase.

Resort Guests will be able to use the Disney Dining Plan at this temporary food and beverage location.

Guests may also dine at Riverside Mill Food Court or have dinner at Boatwright’s Dining Hall (open from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.), both located at the neighboring resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. Bus transportation will run from 7 a.m. to midnight to accommodate Guests who wish to take advantage of this alternative.

In-room pizza delivery service will also continue to be available from 4:00 p.m. until midnight. The menu includes pizza, hot and cold sandwiches and pasta, which can be ordered by pressing “Dining Options” on the in-room phone.

The refurbishment of the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is expected to be completed this fall.

  1. Seriously?! In the middle of summer high season?
I'm starting to feel cheated.. paying premium prices in summertime should give you some guarantee that you can avoid refurbishments.....

  2. If they are using Bonfamille's this is an upgrade. That was a very nice table service restaurant that we frequented. Same food and a few more offerings.
    It is a win.

I saw Bonfamille's 2 years ago and it was pretty much intact with only junk tossed in there for storage. I can only hope now that they appear to be
un-shuttering the former TS that has been sealed off Disney will reintroduce the TS offering again in the near future.
