Former Nickelodeon Hotel Becomes the Holiday Inn Resort


InterContinental Hotels Group (which is currently one of the world’s leading hotel companies) recently announced the addition of the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark property to the IHG portfolio. The 777-room, all-suite hotel is the largest property in the Holiday Inn Resort family. The property is undergoing a $30 million renovation that is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The hotel is located only one mile from the Walt Disney World Resort.

The 777-room property features one, two and three bedroom suites, all offering either a kitchenette or full kitchen. Guests can enjoy complimentary Internet access, the more than 20,000 square foot waterpark, poolside cabanas and the new Batman Laser Challenge, in which children and adults can work alongside Batman to take on The Joker as he threatens Gotham City.


The property also offers a multimillion dollar 4-D Theater where guests can enjoy a thrilling extra-dimensional experience fit for the whole family. New 4-D films include: Angry Birds: The 4-D Experience, Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4-D, and more. The property also offers family-friendly activities including pool-side entertainment and Kids Club with activities hosted throughout the day.

The property offers regular free park shuttles so guests can conveniently enjoy local attractions. Additionally, travelers can dine at various on-site restaurants including the poolside Lagoon Grill and Bar, Lakeside Café and Hideaway Lounge.

  2. Wasn't this property a Holiday Inn Resort before changing over to Nick Suites? I remember staying there and it had a train theme.

  4. I'm starting to despise blue and white, since that seems to replace anything Nickelodeon.
    So what on Earth is gonna happen to the time capsule now?

  6. @CaptJapan: I just read on Wikipedia that the time capsule is supposed to be sent to the current Nickelodeon studios in Burbank, California in the event that the Nick Hotel in Florida closes. Where it will be opened in 2042.
