Universal Studios Update: Fallon, Fast & Furious, and More

Construction continues to take place around many of the great themed areas of Universal Studios Florida. As we have seen in the past months, the new facade of Race Through New York Staring Jimmy Fallon is slowly growing in size and should be completed well before the end of the year. Similarly, the new Fast & Furious attraction continues to be built in the San Francisco area, even though that project seems to be moving at a slower pace. There's more to see, though.

Welcome to Universal Studios Florida:

Notice the work being done next to the roof of the Soundstage:

It's going to be a quite large facade:

The KidZone is still in dire need of an overhaul. It can't wait much longer:

The building housing The Simpsons Ride looks extremely faded:

The new Coca-Cola kiosk is also still behind walls:

  2. Seems like they have slowed their pace of building things considerably.

  3. @Second Anonymous: I agree 100% I feel like if this was two years ago, Universal would have already had the Tonight Show ride up and running

  5. Meanwhile, we're on, what, year three of Avatar construction?

  6. Everything under construction now will open by next year.

  7. They haven't slowed down, actually. F&F is going to be an intricate ride and the foundation is taking time. Also, they're essentially piecing together Race Through New York inside the existing infrastructure. Remember how long it's taken Disney to get nowhere with Avatar.

  8. It looks to me like the outside of Race through New York might look like Rickerfeller center...which would be pretty cool looking!

  9. HAHAHA! Comparing building a large themed land to gutting a building to put up some screens is hilarious.

  10. "put up some screens"

Yes, that's all it takes to add attractions these days. Just "put up some screens".
