Soarin’ Around the World Opening on June 17 at Epcot

Beginning June 17, Guests will be able to depart on a brand-new adventure as Soarin’ Around the World officially opens at Epcot. Combining stunning sights, spectacular sounds and even subtle scents, the attraction will take Guests of all ages on an exhilarating flight spanning six continents and featuring some of the world’s most iconic landmarks. This multisensory attraction will allow Guests to soar and explore some of the most spectacular scenic wonders of our world.

The breathtaking journey will take Guests to the majestic Great Wall of China, through Monument Valley, and over the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Guests will also glide over the windy peak of Switzerland's Matterhorn mountain, by the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris, and over Australia's Sydney Harbour.

Now with a third Epcot theater, plus new digital screens and projection systems, the expanded attraction takes guests on an exhilarating “flight” above spectacular global landscapes and man-made wonders. “Soarin’ Around the World” is further enhanced by its majestic musical score performed by the London Studio Orchestra. The new score will be based on the music from the original Soarin’ attraction.

Epcot and Disney California Adventure Park are receiving the new film as part of a global celebration saluting the opening of Shanghai Disney Resort and its “Soaring Over the Horizon” attraction.

Fan of the former movie featuring breathtaking views of the California landscape will surely be happy to learn that the original movie is expected to return to Epcot on May 27 (note that this is just a RUMOR, as that is not based on an official announcement) for just a few weeks. Disney might even be working on a farewell event for the original version of the attraction. Stay tuned on OTPN for additional information.
