Disney's Blizzard Beach Closed Due to Technical Difficulties

Guests currently visiting the Walt Disney World Resort should be advised that Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed for the entire day today due to technical difficulties. Guests may visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, which will be available today from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Crush 'n' Gusher will also remain closed today for technical issues). Disney's Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses are open normal business hours.

  1. This has become a very familiar tune.

  2. How do you close an entire park due to tech issues? Can you imagine the nightmare they would have on their hands if they closed Epcot or MK because of tech issues? Feel like this should be making headlines in the news that Disney is not able to open a WHOLE PARK for a day. Seems like "tech issues" is there way of masking cost cutting. Thanks Shanghai!

  3. This has nothing to do with Shanghai, but rather with a severe leak in a water main they encountered last year and have not repaired correctly yet. This water main feeds the entire "mountain" of slides. To fix the problem the entire system has to be shut off. They've had work permits out for this fix over the last week, but it seems like they needed more time.

  4. Agree this has nothing to do with SDLP. Plus they have TWO waterparks, so there's always a backup. This is very different than if Epcot or MK closed for technical difficulties, which of course has never happened.

  5. There are other water parks in the area, go to one of them.

What's next, the track on Seven Dwarfs is broken, but you demand they keep the "interactive queue" open??
