Walt Disney World Releases New Rivers of Light Rendering

While checking our mail earlier today, we were happy to find the latest edition of Mickey Monitor, the publication for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders.
In addition to the usual special offers and events, we spotted a beautiful, new rendering of Rivers of Light, the new nighttime show that will debut this spring at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This rendering includes several new details about some of the props and effects that will be included in the show.

Here is the new rendering (it's found on pages 16 and 17 of the Spring 2016 issue of Mickey Monitor):

As you can see, multiple animal-shaped barges will be brought out into the lagoon during the show. Their looks appears to be artistic more than life-like. Along with these barges, multiple lotus-shaped fountains, lanterns, and small fire effects will accompany boats filled with performers (not shown in the artwork). Animal imagery will be projected on the sails of the boats and on large water screens.

In addition to that, the Mickey Monitor article adds that "the welfare of the animals and the integrity of the Park itself were always top of mind, including not allowing any light projections or special effects to impact the animals or their environments and not installing technical infrastructure into the lagoon area."
