Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Updates (Feb. 2016)

There is really a lot going on at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. From the construction taking place in the future AVATAR-themed land to the removal of churros from all in-park kiosks, the park is surely creating a lot of "buzz" (mostly positive despite some of the recent changes) in the theme park fan community.
Today we will share a few more changes that, despite being minor, are certainly important to keep in mind when planning a visit to this wonderful theme park.

Kali River Rapids refurbishment extended
For unknown reasons, the refurbishment of Kali River Rapids has been extended extended into March. A date will be shared as we get closer to opening. Guests with a FastPass+ selection for the timeframe in which the attraction was anticipated to be open will receive an alternate FastPass+ selection.

The Boneyard will close for refurbishment

The Boneyard in DinoLand U.S.A. will temporarily closed for refurbishment on February 22. The dig site will still be open, but Guests are not able to walk across the bridge. The Boneyard will reopen March 18.

Filming around the Tree of Life to take place Wednesday, February 17
A small film crew will be shooting footage around the Tree of Life on the morning and early afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 17. For that reason, "Winged Encounters" will not take place during the morning and Disney's PhotoPass locations will be moved to another area near the Tree of Life.
