New Jedi Training Academy Debuting at Hollywood Studios

The popular Jedi Training Academy show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will soon close to be reimagined as a new experience that includes new characters and a new villain from the popular Disney XD series, "Star Wars Rebels." To prepare for this, the current version of Jedi Training Academy will accept its last Padawans on October 4, 2015. Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple will include a completely new, themed set when the show reopens in December 2015.

  1. There has been speculation, and quite a bit of wishful thinking, that this whole thing would be moved inside with the coming realignment.

I believe that would be a mistake.

If moved inside the only people that are going to see this are those 1) waiting for their turn 2) those connected to participants. The number of disinterested (non participating) viewers will drop dramatically.

What makes it a great piece of entertainment is the open out in public stage atmosphere. We've watched in many times, cheered the kids on, etc., and of course we are not alone. We didn't plan these views, they just happened as we happen to be in the area. To bring this indoors under some guise of it being 'weather proof' or some such thing would sap the experience of much of the joy, the excitement, that the kids obviously feel.

I hope Disney fights the push to make this more _______ and sticks to the simple format the basic street theater presentation.

  2. I agree! I think the kids like the cheering, and it is a great show. Hopefully it stays outside.
